2月5日,星期日,晴天。
The day drawn bright and sunny again, and we decided to started off the morning with a breakfast of 豆浆油条。Unfortunately, the famous stall which was our choice had a ridiculous waiting line stretching from the upper floor food court, down the staircase and out of the whole building. We decided to settle for 2nd best instead of sacrificing our time waiting.
The 油条 was fluffier compared to the one in Malaysia, and they also got 葱油蛋饼 which tasted like roti canai telur.
Our destination for the day was 淡水老街,a place that is choke full of good food … and people.
Over there we visited an ancient temple which entrance was carefully camouflaged by the surrounding market area and the whole place cloistered by buildings.
All the good food were easy to spot, all you needed to do was to spot the long queue.
I tried two types of tofu there – one was smelly, the other Japanese (臭豆腐,阿给)。
This drumstick meal is the one apparently the recurring mysterious Mr J likes a lot. I think he will like the drink too.
The view of the Tamsui harbourside at dusk was mesmerizing.
At night we went to the famous Shilin night market.. which was a big disappointment. The new main food section was underground and so full of people that there was no comfortable place to eat. But overall, it was a good day.
